Steve Jackson Games has an immediate opening for a highly organized and experienced Managing Editor. This is a full-time, 40-hour-a-week position. As the Managing Editor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our editorial department and maintaining the quality of our products. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including senior staff, to plan and schedule our releases. Additionally, you will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief and other team members to enforce editorial policies and uphold our high standards. You can find the full job listing here.

Scheduling and Product Planning.
Enforcing Editorial Policy.
Maintaining the Creative Staff Manual.
Conducting Editorial/Creative Staff Meetings.
Coordinating Creative Staff Efforts.
Preparing an Editorial Department Budget.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., journalism, communications, English) or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in a managing editor or supervisory role.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Familiarity with publishing processes and industry trends.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Austin area applicants are preferred, but we'll accept remote work for the right candidate. $25/hr. We offer paid health insurance after 60 days; vision and dental after 90. There is also an opportunity to participate in our 401(k) plan. We have seven paid holidays a year, and PTO begins to accrue your very first week.
