May 28, 2018: Munchkin Musings: May 2018

Red Pen of Doom

May we have a moment of your time?

First, a bit of housekeeping. Steve and I wrote Designer's Notes for both Moop's Monster Mashup and Munchkin Magical Mess, and we posted those notes recently. If you're curious what may have been going through our heads as we wrote those sets, this will explain. A little. Perhaps. Mostly, we talked about our favorite bad jokes from those games.

If your Friendly Local Game Store has been out of stock on some Munchkin titles, check the list of reprints we shipped last month. Maybe the one you're looking for is among them. We have a few more reprints coming later this year, including Munchkin Deluxe, Munchkin Zombies, and Star Munchkin.

We also announced a new 30-card expansion, Munchkin Side Quests, which has a new way to get rewards and even win the game . . . plus, it's a lot of fun! It will be out this September.

Last month, I talked about progress on Munchkin Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the two-way crossover with The Red Dragon Inn – both of which have made substantial progress in the last few weeks – but I totally neglected to mention Munchkin Harry Potter, from our old friends at USAopoly. That's moving forward very nicely and we can't wait for y'all to pour some pints of butterbeer and sit down to play it! Just recently, I started work on a major licensed Munchkin game coming out in 2019 . . . we'll be announcing that one in a few months. It's a doozy!

Work on the Munchkin Collectible Card Game continues. We've seen a lot of spooky art for Grave Danger, our last expansion for 2018, and Devin is hard at work on the first set of 2019. Come chat with other fans and even staff members over on the Munchkin CCG Discord.

Summer is coming, and that means convention season. We're sending teams to the UK Games Expo and Origins Game Fair in June, and we'll have our usual array of mayhem at Gen Con in August, including the Munchkin Tavern. Hope to see y'all at one of those shows!

Speaking of summer, don't forget about the Munchkin Christmas in July Kickstarter, going live on May 29!
