November 2, 2010: Welcome To November!

Cthulhu Dice Bags Attacking A Pumpkin November is the eleventh month, meaning we've passed the 80% mark for 2010. Where the heck did the year go? This month we've got two major events: Boardgamegeekcon and Thanksgiving.

Boardgamegeekcon is the gathering of Boardgamegeek users (one of the internet's best resources for gamers), slightly north of us in Dallas. We've attended the last couple of years, and it's always a good time. Rarely do you get 1,000+ people together with such a single-minded purpose: play games, as many as possible. In addition to introducing our games to some alpha game geeks, we also get a chance to play some of those big, time-intensive games that we can't really justify over a weekend back home. If you've already locked in your plans to attend, stop by our booth and say hello! (Unfortunately, if you haven't already gotten your pass, you can't now; BGGcon sold out months ago. Next year, the organizers are talking about a new, bigger venue.)

Speaking of weekends at home, Thanksgiving is the other big event this month. Thursday, November 25, and Friday, November 26, the Steve Jackson Games offices will be closed. Not "closed" as in "we're hanging around, playing games," but as in "no one is here; we're all at home." No orders will be shipped from Warehouse 23, so if you need that copy of Nanuk before Turkey Day, get it now! Electronic files will still be able to be purchased from e23, as the digital hobgoblins we use there work through all vacations.

Where's Phil?

This week, Phil is on a Road Trip of his very own! Tonight, November 2, he'll be at Pandemonium Books in Cambridge, MA, from 6pm to 8pm. Tomorrow he'll be at Medieval Starship (love that name!) in Pembroke MA -- same times, which means Phil will be up past his bedtime twice in one week! Stop by either location (or both!) and say hi!
